On my 1.7 CRDI the engine oil is above the full mark by 12mm when cold and by 8mm 5 minutes after switch off. Been to the dealers 3 times. On the first occasion, when the car was brand new, they drained a bit out, but after the first oil change I have been told twice that it has the correct amount in.

I undid what I assumed would be the drain plug but no oil came out and it was a long bolt. It was directly at the sump of the gearbox, under where the fill plug is.

The car i am using has difficulties sometimes when starting the engine, independent of the engine temperature sometimes it doesnt start with the first crank attempt. I also had noises from the fuel inejectors which dissapeared after maintaining the fuel injectors but the difficulties when starting especially when the wheather is cold, remained.
This can be caused by the oil maybe needing replacing as it's not doing its job properly or the transmission in your Kia Ceed (incl. XCeed) being pushed too hard. Pull over as soon as possible to allow the oil to cool down before setting off again. If the problem continues then seek help from a trained mechanic or Kia Ceed (incl. XCeed) dealership.
