This edition was released a year after HoMM II: TSW (1996) and half-year after official PoL release. It was the last HoMM release with MS-DOS compatible HoMM 1/2 editions. You can use DOSbox to run these games. Also it can be played on old PC running Windows 98 or XP without problems.
Good to see Heroes 2 getting some love on here, that game is probably the most nostalgic one of all for me. Had the same feeling years ago at the end of Price of Loyalty. Heroes 2's AI has a bug that you exploit to win that last scenario, which is that AI heroes will always leave a significant portion of their army in towns they capture.
