The acclaimed 50th Anniversary touring production of Jesus Christ Superstar was among the first shows to reopen at the end of November 2021 after the long pandemic hiatus. It was a glorious sign that theatre had survived Covid. Indeed, both Toronto critics and audiences embraced the show and made it a sold-out hit. Appleton is one of this cast's first stops on tour. Not only is "Jesus Christ Superstar" kicking off the start of the PAC's 2022-23 season, but the cast is coming to Appleton just over a week since their first performances. This cast started rehearsals in September and kicked off performances Oct. 8 in Columbus, Georgia.
As previously announced, Jack Hopewell and Elvie Ellis return to the tour to star as Jesus and Judas. Jaden Dominique joins the tour in the role of Mary.
